How OddsWasp analyzes matches
For football, OddsWasp calculates an independent Poisson goal expectancy: each team gets an attack and a defence rating, which combine with home advantage into expected goals for both sides. From the full score matrix, OddsWasp derives 1X2 probabilities, over/under 2.5 goals and both-teams-to-score.
OddsWasp's basketball predictions blend each team's offensive rating with the opponent's defensive rating, plus home-court advantage. Win probability comes from the distribution of point margins; the totals suggestion from the projected combined score.
OddsWasp's tennis predictions use Elo ratings, covering Grand Slams, ATP/WTA 1000 events and the tour Finals: the gap between two players' ratings converts directly into a win probability, the same method used to rank chess players.
These are probabilities OddsWasp estimates from strength ratings — not guarantees, not inside information. A 65% favourite still loses about one match in three. Never bet more than you can afford to lose.
